DESIGNER HOME PLANS - FOUNDATION DRAINAGE
SCHEDULE
. . . . . . . . .
Foundation drainage most often is not a toughie; most home plans do not need a foundation drainage schedule. But once in a while, you just have to do it. And if you get it wrong, if you just don't pay attention to it at all, you can get squeezed out by too much water in too little pipe - sort of like these two fellows - it'll work, maybe, but it can be definitely be done better than "whatever."
AFTER
In this home plan set design, Before The Architect developed a need for a more complex than usual foundation drainage setup. Enclosed crawlspace, extensive exterior concrete decking, and the home itself - each had to work on its own and, progressively from crawlspace to home foundation each had to pick up the other guy's drainage load. At issue -
Alert contractors that they've 3 levels of foundation drainage with which to contend.
Define the area extent of the drainage piping.
Adequately assess slopes and runs, pour-overs, or intersections, and directions of flow.
This was the way the Before The Architect home plan set designer handled it illustratively (and somewhat cryptically - the cryptics are the message, though . . . the message is you do what you have to in order to convey serious interests to contractors and others and home plan set schedules are one fine way to do the conveyance):
